I'll have to admit that I don't particularly like toned coins, and I certainly wouldn't pay that kind of premium for one.

That coin reminds me of a time when I had bought some large silver-plated spoons at a garage sale. I'm an ABC (American-Born person of Chinese) descent, so I used one of the spoons to spoon out rice from my electric rice cooker. I guess the spoon was in the pot for a few minutes to an hour. When it came out it had an irridescent toning very similar to this coin.

Maybe I should take some silver eagles, arrange them in trays over a rice steamer, then sell the toned silver eagles at a premium. I could honestly say they were "naturally toned".

The dealer I buy mine from discounts ones like that.:thumbs do Still, I would take one of those any day over some of the painted ones I have seen. Only a sick mind would paint a silver anything!:haha:
